2019 Annual Ranger Muster

The 2019 RANGER Rendezvous will be at Ft. Benning, GA from 8JUL19-12UL19.  This is a BIG year as it is the 75th Anniversary of the 75th INF assault at Point du Hoc, France on D-Day.  Also, it is the 45th anniversary of the 1/75 and 2/75 formation, and the 25th anniversary of 3/75 and 75th RGR RGT formation.  Former 1/75 BCO, now RCO Col. Tegtmeier will be turning over the RGT command to former 1/75 BCO Col Brown.  The RHOF inductions for 2019 will be on 10JUL19 and the week will be filled with Ranger events. This year we will be conducting the Rendezvous in complete coordination with the 75th RRA, and sharing events, transportation, and brotherhood.  The USARA host hotel is the Doubletree, and registration will be online at Ranger.Org, for both the ARM and the hotel as of 5FEB19.  All general information, schedule, and agendas will be posted on our website, ranger.org at the same time.

Registration:

Members will be able to register daily and pick up their packets in the Hospitality Room Magnolia, beginning at 1100 Monday, July 8th, 2019.  ALL members are urged to PREREGISTER on the website so we can track the needed shirts, hats, transportation, and event/meal attendance requirements.  Pre-registration will be available beginning on February 15th, 2019 on the USARA website, where you can select if you want a Polo shirt or hat, what meals you desire to attend, if you want Raffle tickets, if you want to sponsor an active duty soldier at the Soldier Appreciation Dinner, and if you may need transportation during your stay, etc.  All payments may be made at this time for all activities to reduce financial transactions on-site during the event itself.

In 2017 and 2018, we had a significant number of walk-ins with no advance notice.  While we were excited to have our Brothers with us, it created a logistical challenge and delays in receiving shirts and other items in a timely manner, and in our ability to smoothly coordinate activities.  In general, it caused preventable problems and we WANT TO PLAN FURTHER IN ADVANCE in 2019…so, please pre-register!

Hotel Rooms:

The link to book your hotel rooms at the Doubletree Hotel is now available on the USARA website. The rooms are $111/daily plus tax and includes full hot breakfast daily. We have an alternate hotel that is less expensive.  If you desire to book an alternate hotel please contact Doc Attaway at art.attaway@ranger.org.

President’s Dinner:

This year we will share the President’s Dinner with the 75th Ranger Regiment Association and combine our brothers in one room.  This event will be held at the Ironworks in downtown Columbus. As usual, the Raffle will be conducted and many door prizes will be handed out.

Soldier Appreciation Night:

The SAP will be on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the DoubleTree hotel.  We invite active duty officers and soldiers from Regiment and Battalions, as well as ARTB Command, RI’s and staff.  We ask that each Ranger attending from the USARA contribute a minimum of $35, if you are in the financial position to do so, to sponsor a soldier so the active duty soldiers have no cost at all.  We expect 100 active duty Rangers to attend. You will be able to donate and “Sponsor a Ranger” on the registration webpage when conducting other registration activities. We will be sharing this event with members of the 75th RRA.

Hats and Polo shirts:

This year you will be able to select a Polo Shirt or Hat to be handed out at registration (provided you preregister by June 10th, 2019), and select the color and size online from available items.  Additionally, for an additional $3 you can add “Army Ranger Muster – 2019”, “Ft. Benning, Georgia” to the hat or shirt.  Again, this will be on the selection form so read and complete carefully and fully please.

Raffle:

The Raffle will feature a number of firearms and knives as well as other items of interest for Rangers.  A separate page for the Raffle will be completed when item availability is final and we can announce definite prizes.  This year, you will be able to purchase tickets in advance online for your convenience, and again to add a sense of order to the process during the ARM itself.

Range Day:

We will have a “Range Day” at a firing range that connects to Ft. Benning, and is about a 20 minute drive from the hotel.  The range is CQT. You will need to bring your own weapons and ammo to use during the event. Targets, ears and eyes, and the Range itself, with a Safety Officer will be provided.  A Barbeque meal will be provided for a cost of $15/ per person. Register for the event in advance during pre-registration, so we may properly plan. Should you be flying and prefer not to carry a weapon in transit, please advise Doc Attaway in advance at art.attaway@ranger.org and he will attempt to provide access to firearms locally at the range.  We will be hosting a competition and sharing this event with the 75TH RRA.

RHOF:

The Induction ceremony for the RHOF will be Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Building 4.

Regimental Change of Command:

This is an on-year for the CoC and there will be all standard Regimental activities, including the CoC itself, as well as the Static Displays, Airborne Operations, and Hangar Barbeque/Concert.  Former 1/75 BCO and now RCO of the 75th RGT, Col Brandon Tegtmeier will be turning the Regimental Command over to former 1/75 BCO Todd Brown. As of now the CoC ceremony is scheduled for THU 11JUL19.

Transportation:

This year we will have shared buses with the 75th RRA to noted events on the schedule. Noted in the past is the lack of need for the large number of registrants vs. the large expense associated with providing buses.  To insure we meet the needs of the Ranger and family/guests attendees, we will provide some sort of alternate transportation TBD. Please insure you let us know during the online registration process if you will need help with transportation to events.  The scheduled events that may require transportation are:

  • Airborne Operations (weather contingent) at Friar Field – Monday
  • RHOF – Wednesday on Ft. Benning
  • Ladies Day Out – Wednesday  tour of area Little White House, and area vineyards/wineries
  • President’s dinner – Friday in downtown Columbus
  • Range Day – Friday at CQT Range (25 minutes from the hotel and attached to the back side of Ft. Benning.
  • Infantry Museum Tour – Thursday at the NIM, Ft. Benning.
